Description: The Farand Blades are one of the few souvenirs that Lex has taken with her from her days in the Mund Imperium. Originally designed by one of the greatest blacksmiths and inverter within the Imperium they themselves were to be his last piece of work before he was brutally murdered under suspicious events. While they were originally given to one of the knights within the Imperium they eventually found their way into Lex's hand after she herself assassinated him.

In their default state the Farand Blades take on the appearance of normal metallic bracers that cover the forearm and the back of the hand each of them with a series of 3 small sharply edged blades on one of the sides, these designed to be able to catch blades when utilizing them for defensive purposes. Though the true form of these items is when the mechanism on them is triggered and once done a 0.3m(1ft) long blade will extrude from the top portion of the bracer to cover the top of the users hands. The blade itself being double edged, width of 0.05m(2in), and the width of each blade slowly becoming smaller as it reaches the tip. These blades can quickly extrude and retract from the bracer in order to create sudden edged attacks and primarily designed to be utilized with a hand-to-hand combat fighter.

Each bracer, the metallic parts, are composed of a rare metal alloy found only within the boundaries of the Imperium called Regillum. The metal is primary designed to be used with lightweight plate armors where the weight of the material itself is exceptionally small while providing the same strength as the strongest steel. Though generally the sheer cost and amount of man hours needed to create the alloy make it incredibly rare and normally unusable. Allowing it to withstand high impact sword slashes and blunt objects such as maces or flails. The bracers cover about 200* of the backside of the users forearm while the remainder there are only leather straps to allow the user to loosen or tighten them onto their forearms.

Upon closer inspection one will notice that the parts that cover the forearm are slightly higher than those that cover the back of the users hand. This is due to the retractable blades hidden within the forearm part of the bracers and allow them to extend without worry of them hitting the back side of the hand plates.

Fighting Style: Lex uses these Farand Blades with both of their intended functions in mind; both as a defensive bracer and as a hidden bladed weapon. She utilizes them in such a way to augment her own hand-to-hand combat skills primary (defensively) to guard herself against bladed or blunt attacks and secondary (offensively) to create quick bladed strikes against a unsuspecting enemy. Essentially using them to extend the reach of her attacks with the quickly extruding blades, using the extruding and retracting function in order to constantly force the opponent to misjudge the range of her attacks.
