Thornes & Brambles Empty Thornes & Brambles

Colton floated through the streets of the artistic town. He saw that one of the houses was the art itself. It was curvy and probably took a very long time to finish. Even the most slight mistake could mess up and make the whole building fall. He wandered through what seemed to be a deformed kitchen. It had many colors and the walls where as if they were coming. Colton took a closer inspection. Other people started to flood the house as they saw Colton go in. He quickly floated away and out of the house.

He then found a merchant who was selling apple. He was glad it stopped there and it wasn't apple juice. For some reason he hated apple juice. It just weirded him out. He also didn't like the taste of apple juice. Other fruits like orange juice tasted great. He also saw that the merchant was also selling candy. He loved candy. But the merchant only had a few candy he liked. He bought a few apple and made them float in the air while he grabbed a hand full of sour candy. He payed the merchant and floated down the street to where he proceeded to unwrap the candy and eat it. He liked the chewy types the best.

They required less work to eat and less time to finish. Then the sounds of screaming could be heard. He saw smoke in the sky. He quickly floated a candy to his mouth and flew as fast as he could over to the smoke. And what he found what nothing but hilarious. A bunch of no brained Barbarians were setting houses on fire and wrecking buildings. When he saw him they quickly recognized him as being a sin. And when for him. They quickly swung at him and he reacted with quick dodges. Their movements were way to slow to hit him. But if they did he knew that it would probably shatter his arm or maybe more. Being a fairy had it benefits and its weaknesses.

He was not in the mood and they were not worth his time. So he just tired them out until they passed out by themselves. If its one thing these guys have its endurance. These guys don't give up until thy can't move anymore. Colton loved to taunt them and make them angrier. It made them work harder making them use up more energy. Colton loved using logic to fight brutes. It seemed like the best method of getting rid of them. The stronger they are the tougher the puzzle is to make them crack. Little by little until they exploded. Anyways there were more Barbarians around so he started floating to his next location.

You couldn’t blame them for trying; the rich just had so much – and to leave it out amongst the mostly unguarded lands outside of Liones, well it was just begging for someone to make an attempt on the peace that this village represented. Who cared about fancy art and caricatures like this anyways? The fierce but dim-witted warriors took the village by storm – a vicious assault that took the mid-morning by surprise; even the birds that had sung the day’s tunes upon window seals were met upon with the sudden urge to abandon all hope of reaching the freedom of the expansive skies above.

Doors upon the frontal assault, along the main streets that they would happen upon, were broken with little trouble; the waves of barbarians sought to plunder this village like many of the others they’ve taken by force for days earlier in-route to this one now. Unbeknownst to each other there was a Sin hidden within the village who thought to make himself a hero amongst the rabble. But that was a story he, himself, would have to tell. It wouldn’t take long before the song-birds music was replaced with the shouts and cries of those without means to protect themselves; men, woman and children who couldn’t fight back – their hands were soft, maybe a couple callouses based upon the instrument they’d only ever known, or brushes that could simply mask their ignorance of what troubles lay across their manicured fields.

Still, this tale isn’t about the inadequate nature of these village-folk, but rather about the heavily-shrouded figure that slipped betwixt the barbaric warriors who attacked with axe and sword in hand. Singular figure amongst a hoard who, upon close inspecting eyes, would not have belonged; the barbarian movements were brash, vicious – the shrouded figure’s own were light-footed and swift, navigating through the bodies without worry that they’d turn their attention to him. Was the figure supposed to be amongst the men? Had he lead them here of his own accord? Then why did it seem that he moved between them with a purpose that wasn’t their own? It didn’t take long for the figure to disappear amongst the villager’s houses, cleaving his own path between one or two before finding himself upon a roof and quickly moving with feverous purpose toward the small village cathedral.

Why the roof-tops you may ask? Beneath the cloth robes wasn’t an assassin, although he may have had the look down to the fleeting eye. Perhaps it was to simply remove the twists and turns of what roads and alleyways the village possessed that could quickly turn into an adventure of its own sort. He wasn’t the best navigator to begin with and with the bodies quickly piling up with the absence of guards within – it was likely that the roof-top was his best bet anyways. Still, it’d take a moment for him to reach the cathedral – hopefully the brute’s assault on the village would be able to handle the Sin who’d maybe himself known, reinforcements were likely already on their way. There wouldn’t be a lot of time to be had as originally thought – he’d best make this quick.

A lone knight walking at a slow pace upon the dirt road leading to the small town known as Biron, from her position she could see the large amount of smoke that rose into the air, black as night brightened by the amount of fire that followed it. People ran in the opposite direction of the town, from her position they resembled small black silhouettes. The lone knight bearing a golden plated armor stands alone as she strides toward this town.

    ~A few hours beforehand~

The Liones barracks was quite busy, more then a dozen knights running around grabbing their gear and weapons for the upcoming battle they were readying for. Mari a member of the Sins strode through the barracks out of boredom wondering what all the commotion was about.

    "What's happening here?"

She asked curiously. One of the knights filled her in that there was a sighting of a small group of barbarians heading toward Biron, they looked like they were ready for battle. They were readying themselves for battle. Pondering the thought, Mari suggested that she should head out there herself rather then send a group out. Before agreeing with her she already had started heading out toward Biron.

    ~Presently~

She had gotten closer to the entrance of the town before running into a aristocratic, he bash his face into her chest piece, being blown back and landing on his rear end, he looked up to her as the burning flames brightened against the knights helm.

"Oh please stop them! They'll destroy our precious artifacts!"

He spouted with his nose beginning to flood blood down onto his clothing, pleading toward her with his hands on the feathery portions of her armor. She looked down toward him before grabbing his collar and lifting him up into the air. She lifted him toward the side before putting him back onto his feet, she swiped her chest before continuing onward toward the town. The man was left without any words.

Walking into the fray of burning buildings the young knight would scour the area in search of the perpetrators in attempt to halt their pursuit and find out why they are doing it.

Colton flew through the burning buildings at blinding speeds. Blowing away from of the fire in his haste. He again wasn't in the mood for playing with these guys. He wanted to find the boss around here. Or at least the guy in charge. Also what did they want with Brion? Colton was pretty sure these types of people didn't care about art. Colton didn't either but he wasn't gonna burn it to the ground. Colton then finally met with his second wave of Barbarians. Colton lifted up part of a burning building. And began to throw them at the Barbarians.

He didn't feel like dodging these guys anymore. He got bored of it again. And of course the falling build parts made large sounds when they collided with the Barbarians. He had a smirk on his face seeing them scatter trying the dodge the debris. They thought he was a wizard. And I guess they could be right. But they wasn't worth using magic on. Colton need a strong opponent. He then thought of the other sins. What were they like? How many male or females were there?

His thoughts were interrupted when one if the Barbarians threw a large rock at Colton. He used one of the broken boards and spun it rapidly to make a somewhat drill. He then sanded it al the rock. The sound of wood grinding and stone being broken should of rang through the town. But Colton soon got annoyed at the sound and quickly finished off this wave of Barbarians. He looked out into the distance and decided to stopped the fire in this area.

He moved the dirt on the ground and made a tornado with it. Stopping the fire with the various dirt in the air. He no longer had the smell or fire in his nose so he stopped the tornado. He thought of what his next move was going to be. There were still some more Barbarians. Maybe he needed a bit of help. But who was strong enough to help him in this town.
